Wentzville FPD News & Fire Safety Tips

Burning Season September 16, 2022-April 14, 2023

The burning season begins on September 16th. Apply for your burn permit through the link on this site, under the tabs, Residential Burn Permit, Open Burning Submission Form. You will receive an email indicating your submission was received. This will serve as your permit for the season ending on April 14, 2023. You will be notified if there is an issue with your submission. There is no opening burning in any city limit, only Unincorporated St. Charles County. Bonfires and recreational fires do not require permits and are allowed in city limits. Bonfires must be 50 feet from any structure, recreational fires must be 25 feet from any structure. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for portable outdoor fireplaces, however should be kept to a minimum of 15 feet from a structure or combustible material.
